I have very recently become involved in an extraordinary project that has already had an incredible amount of work done to create an interactive map indicating the positions of the armies and regiments in NW Europe Spring 1944 to May 1945. The map has a focus on the Canadian Regiments and links their war diaries which are being transcribed, proofread, and made completely accessible to anyone at the following site. Please note that this is the Beta Version with a completion date planned for the 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe. I am very excited to see this and to have so much Canadian history about the Second World War available to so many for the first time. They also have a great website presence on FB. Project ‘44

Michelle, I just started to feel my way through the map and am very impressed. Great work with a ton of data. I must confess I am a "map geek" so this format is exciting to see. Great job!

I'll echo that. It looks like a tremendous amount of work, but ultimately rewarding. What a great resource. Thanks for posting it. A wonderful link.
