Was this parachute infantry division comprised of any Italians ?

And did the Kriegsmarine have any parachute or ground reconnaissance units?.
And did the 29th Waffen Grenadier Division win any major battles against British forces?.

    1. Not to my knowledge. It was formed from German air force parachutists - you can check Lexikon der Wehrmacht - Fallschirm-Jäger-Division

    2. German marine infantry regiments, brigades and divisions were formed in 1944-45. Lexikon der Wehrmacht - Marine-Infanterie
Some of these will have had reconnaissance elements. I am not aware the Kreigsmarine had any pretensions to operated parachutists. Neither Raeder or Doenitz was an empire builder on the scale of Goering or Himmler. However, drafts of sailors were posted across the wehrmacht in late 1944 and some may have ended up in the parachute troops.

    3. NO. A small number of Italian SS men served in Anzio in then second half of March 1944. They did not win any major battles against the British. As I have posted elsewhere, the Italian SS spent the last year of the war hunting partisans.

    Thanks so much.
Do you know if the Kriegsmarine had the Croation Naval Legion operate as combat troops on the ground?.

Wow it took me 7 hours to find a hidden sub-link on Wikipedia that led me to another link and I finally found a Turkic Waffen SS unit. It seems the Germans didn't want to lable Azeri and Turkic and Armenian units of the Waffen SS the same as they would German or Italian Divisions of the SS.
The Turkic Waffen SS units were called Waffen Groups and only one unit had SS in their units title. It was the 1st SS WaffenGruppe Turkoman. Then there is 1st SS WaffenGruppe Armenia .
