A November 24, 1942 cartoon in which Dr. Seuss mocks Hitler following the encirclement of the German 6th Army at Stalingrad...sorry no green eggs and ham for you.
This reminds me very much of a cartoon I once saw in "Purnells History of the Second World War" referring to the Soviet problems in Finland. The drawing was of a steamroller that was stuck in the snow, with two red army soldiers, one saying to the other, "Comrade commissar, we seem to have run out of steam..." Or I think that was the caption anyway. This Dr. Suess cartoon seems to echo the sentiments expressed. This is a great section of the forum. I have not seen this on other forums...well done WW2 Forum.com
