Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful that I've got the freedom to write what I want and not have it cleared by government censors, for now.
Happy Thanksgiving! I have so many things to be thankful for, so I will just say that I am thankful for our WWII veterans who gave so much to preserve Freedom and Liberty for themselves and for future generations. I am also thankful for WW2F and WW2Talk which give us a place to honor those WWII veterans, as well as meet others who have a common interest in discussing and preserving WWII history.
It's really the best Holiday. A celebration of family, a way to mark the passing of another year; toasts to those who have passed, and hugs and kisses for the babies that replace them. I found this short John Stossel video interesting. If one wants to take Thanksgiving as a historical marker, it might be a celebration of capitalism and free enterprise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlaMfjcJStI
not in the US. but they say being outdoors on thanksgiving dinner time is eerie: empty roads, malls, parking lots. those who go out looking to pay for their thanksgiving dinner have poor choices.
A very cold Thanksgiving Day here in south central Pennsylvania, the coldest since 1938, so the weather people say. Temps to be around 28° with wind. But it is my favorite holiday with the relatives and lots of good food and football games. But whenever I sit down to a big dinner like this with tasty desserts also, I am thankful and think of all those less fortunate who have little to eat. I wish all of you who celebrate this holiday a peaceful Thanksgiving.
Happy thanksgiving to all! I'm grateful for the knowledge I've acquired, and the people I've met on this site! Have a blessed and safe day everyone.
Once again also, a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving to all! Weather is exceptionally mild here, bright and sunny with temperatures around 62°. But it will be a bit different here this year as it will be for some others also. We were to go over to my son’s house for Thanksgiving but my daughter-in-law, being a physician, had some of her staff test positive for Covid19 so they thought it best if we all stayed at our own house and we made food for them and they made food for us and we will do a food exchange around 2:00 when my son comes over to bring ours to us. It may be a bit different, but the bottom line is that as far as I am concerned, it is a small sacrifice to try to keep everyone healthy.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. While it is sad to not see the family as we usually do, I love the idea of staying home and doing nothing by EAT. Not having to go anywhere. But seriously, very thankful to have almost everyone healthy. If we can all keep our health till Christmas, that will be the greatest gift.
This year we're having Cornish game hens as there's only the two of us. I've kept the birds carefully socially distanced for two weeks and neither has shown signs of any virus. To be safe we'll still bake them in different ovens. (I got Boss Lady an EZ Bake oven for hers.)
Just the Wife, myself and the pets this year. Still, were still around so there's thanks for that. To all of you, American citizens or not, Happy Thanksgiving!--H
