    Just received word that a great guy is gone.

    Rest In Peace

    I'll add to this later but I want to put this up now.

    Congressional Record; Rep. Marsha Blackburn
    152 Cong. Rec. E303 - HONORING GORDON L. ZEINE

    Mr. Speaker, it's not every day that I get the opportunity to recognize someone who has dedicated so many years of service to our country.
    It's with thanks and appreciation that I ask my colleagues to join me today in recognizing Gordon L. Zeine for his service as a member of the U.S. Navy, and for his work supporting our country's defense efforts in the years that followed.
    Gordon's 8 years in the Navy and his decades working on technology that has enhanced our security are wonderful achievements--achievements that will have a lasting impact on our country. It's an impressive thing to be able to say your work has made America safer.
    We're grateful for Gordon and his contributions to America, and we know he has certainly earned his retirement. We'll miss his tremendous knowledge and dedication nonetheless, but we will build on his work. We know his daughter, Tina, who joined the Navy and was the fourth generation to complete boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois, is already building on her family's record of service. It's because of families like Gordon's that America is strong.
    Tennessee and America are proud of Gordon and we're thankful for his service. God Bless.

    Gordon told a few stories about his time in the Navy, one I found online;

    In 1970 onboard the USS Trutta (SS 421) in Key West as I was just about to go to sleep in a real rack. Being a non-qual it was great to get a rack, in the after room no less. An engine man who we called Goofus need to make a trip to the head. He new better than to do what he did but it was late and he was tired. They where blowing sanitaries. Guess what he did. As I lay in the rack the boat literally rattled and rumbled as # 2 sanitary emptied on to Goofus.
    Goofus had a beard. If you can imagine what he looked like. He went topside were a young crewmen and his girl friend or wife (can't remember which) sat on the pier. Goofus came out of the after battery hatch looking like something out of a horror movie. Raised his arms growled, his beard full of everything including TP and dove overboard leaving a trail of mung behind him. A real vapor trail and dark trail in the clear water was left behind. The girl was a little startled to say the least. What an aroma was left behind.

    How can 5 years feel like 50, and 50 years feel like 5 ?

    1968, Randy on drums, Lonnie on guitar, Kevin on keyboards and Gordon bringing down the garage walls just ripping it on the saxophone.

    Crap. It's been a rough nearly two years. No excuse though - just a month late.
