I was thinking about the cartridge case and yeah there usually is air space more if you do a low grain load, when I made my own loads, saved a ton on ammo, anyway you have low grain load medium and high. I would do the low since I was usually making target loads. Met a guy at a gun range and we good talking about reloads and told me he never got a reloading manual. So I said how do you know how much powder to put in. Told me he would fill the case to the top and force the bullets down. Wow I said isn't that dangerous. Yeah he said blew the barrel off his gun, damn did you lose any fingers. No he says got some first degree burns got lucky and learned a lesson and bought a reloading manual. Used to be so great the great western gun show used to be local got huge deals on guns and ammo. But California cracked down on gun show's and the gun show moved to las Vegas.

I actually visited the bar shown in "The Man With The Golden Gun". It was the "Bottom's Up" in Hong Kong, Kowloonside. Cute Chinese ladies wearing a Kleenex (or most of one) and serving us lonely sailor boys.

Gunpowder contains its own O2. Part of the formula. You can fire a gun underwater.

Currently in Northern Minnesota about 60 miles from Canada the morning you posted it was 9* with a minus 3* windchill. Still have close to 20” of ice on the lake. but it’s warming up - supposed to hit mid 40’s today !
Visited my Uncle in Chico, north of Sacramento, many times. Usually in July when it was 110 degrees!

I think the best weapons on the moon would be the old school type. Throw a hundred pound rock, it’d only weigh about as much as a bowling ball, but still have the mass and inertia of a hundred pound rock. Hit a space-suited Lunar soldier and they’d go tail over ankles.

Sounds too cold for me but it would be fun to build an igloo. Always wanted to try that after watching some survival show were these guys are in Alaska to do research on the seals and decide setting up a tent is not going to cut it so they build a igloo they made it look so easy cutting blocks out of the snow and stacking them together. Looked solid and better against the wind. I went backpacking with a buddy of mine we decided to go to palm springs and take the tram up the mountain it was mid may. The snows were all gone from baldy and big bear. As we go up and start nearing the top, hey does that look like snow. We get to the top and are sinking in about two feet of snow. We check in at the ranger station listing our trail plan and off we go. We don't make the summit still had a long way to go but the sun was going down and we decide to set up tent we hardly get done my bud gets in and a gust rips the tent free if my friend wasn't in the tent it probably would have been in Palm springs by midnight. We pull the tent back down get the stakes down find some big rocks and weight down everything and get in. It felt like a freezer and the wind was like going thru the tent like it was made of screening. I had taken off my jacket but put it back on it was so cold. I had cotton socks and wool thermal socks on, underwear and thermal T-shirt and thermals, jeans sweater jacket scarf, knit cap, in my bag, thinking God I know I won't freeze to death but I'm really uncomfortable. In the morning we get up we're both beat all our water we had in the tent was frozen solid. We were like hell with the summit let's go home. We head back check out at the ranger station and take the tram down drive down the mountain find a Denny's get breakfast and hot coffee, head back home to warm comfy bed.

I heard some guys were using rc tanks armed with like 22s instead of bbs to play war games. I always thought the naval bb wars were a crack up. San Diego had a big group but I never made it to their meets. A buddy of mine told me he had a friend who built large scale scale rc planes and had built a couple of planes using ruger 22 actions in the wings and they went out to the desert and flew them and he got lucky and shot the other plane. Said it suddenly spinning and crashed. He said he thought his friend would be pissed but the guy was like I can't wait to fix it and do it again. I think that is kinda crazy, BBS would be a lot safer. Or go to that guy who built mini tanks armed with paint guns.

Finally seeing a few cracks in the ice on the lake today. With the sweltering temps predicted to be in the 50's we should be seeing open water soon. Folks over on Lake Superior are a bit more anxious for summer.

Ok that really makes me shiver and its in the 60s here. When I was in Ohio they got some heavy snow and I learned a lot, get out before the snow warms and refreezes because then it's hard and struck to the ground. Get out and just push it off while its still fluffy and light, spreading salt the night before works great. Funny all the ice salt red blue green. The stuff we used was green and I would throw the salt so it was spread all over the driveway but not too heavy and seemed to work fine. I told my gf not to rent that house and find something else we forgot or didn't have salt and I had to get the snow shovel and clear the drive all 80 feet of it I had rarely seen a driveway that long, don't know why you would want your house so far back from the road. Bet delivery people hated it. Anyway afterwards we stocked up on salt got three or four huge bags. I stacked them in the garage for my gf and if we got any reports of snow we'd salt the drive.

As a young woman, Ieva Lesinska was faced with an agonising choice - betray her father, or leave her mother, friends and homeland of Latvia behind forever.

A film has now been made about her experience, it's called: 'My Father, the Spy.'

Ieva tells her story as part of the Secrets and Lies series on Outlook, BBC World Service here.

Sounds great I would like to go to Japan, but I need to also have money put aside for a huge model spending spree. Looked on hlj and hsj and found lots of kits I haven't gotten yet. And maybe check out the maritime museum the one that has the giant model of the Yamato.

Yeah my buddy went there last year with his wife and had a field day buying up a bunch of kits went to one store had five floors of models, the first four were all gundum, robotech and transformers kits said he had no idea they had so many of those types of kits and the gift floor was everything else armor aircraft ships. He said his best time was st the hasagawa showroom, they had kits there on sale huge discounts and got a couple of dozen kits. Of several of a kit he wanted and was hoping to find for not even half what it was here. Said it was the best trip ever. Tried to find deals on kits when they went to China but couldn't find any shops selling kits and said people he talked to acted like they didn't know what he was talking about. Maybe if he had gone to hong Kong there's two big model companies there HK models and some other I want to say great wall but not really sure. Its funny because in China there's trumpeter, dml dragon, most of the Japanese 144 kits I got are actually made in China. Guess should have done some research on shops in the cities he was going to visit.

I haven't been to Hong Kong since 1987, but back then the Wanchai was loaded with model shops. One building bragged "50 modle shops inside!"

Well my buddy didn't make it to hong Kong told him I thought it was the place to go, not sure what cities he went to but I was sure I read dml dragon was in Shanghai. He was just puzzled that no one could tell him where to find a moidel shop. Said they got conned into going to some BSD restaurant were they asked for chicken and were served chicken feet, said it was not very good wouldn't want to try it again
