Sorry all I can give is a description as I know nothing about this Tunic, Grey cloth and very heavy material, both large front lower flapped pockets are lined in fine leather for some reason, white striped silk lined sleeves, has German stamp and date 1937. Also looks like its designed for a belt.
Any information would be very much appreciated
    hopefully photos should help.
    Thank you

Apparently a civilian suit jacket. What's the question?

Hi and thanks for reply, can I ask if its civilian why it has leather lined deep pockets and fitments for a belt, why is there a stamp on sleeve.

It is civilian. Cut, style, fabric absolutely scream, "CIVILIAN". Why the leather lined pockets? Who knows, perhaps one of those affectations for which one pays extra. Think civilian suits in the 1960's, Paisley linings, even the breast pockets, who knows. Belts? Belts were not unusual in the style of southern Germany, still are. And the all important stamp? Lots of people put 3R type stamps on lots of things just to make them more saleable. Ask yourself. why would there be a 3R stamp on a clearly civilian article of clothing except to make you think it special and thus you buy it?
