The South Pacific has not been "nuclear free" since China commissioned it's first nuclear submarine in 1974. Further, the South Pacific has not been "nuclear weapons free" since China acquired it's first conventionally powered ballistic missile submarine in 1967, and commissioned it's first nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine in 1986-87. Currently, there are 7 Chinese nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines with another 10 planned or under construction, and there are 8 active Chinese nuclear-powered attack submarine in operation, with a new class of nuclear attack subs planned or already under construction. So, how does this Chinese representative justify his claim given past Chinese nuclear and ballistic submarine acquisitions. Not to mention the Chinese nuclear submarine base on Hainan Island(that is on the edge of the South China Sea. Given such, the weapons carried by the proposed Australian nuclear attack submarine are immaterial, given already operating Chinese nuclear attack & boomers. Yes, in all likelihood, Australia already had Chinese nuclear weapons targeted at it, given Australia's strategic position and close ties to America as an advance base. Best guess would be Australia's major port cities.
Yes, the other side considers us better dead than alive. Due to religion. In a document Palestinian 12-year olds said the best Israelian is a dead one. How can we expect ever peace in the Middle East. Hate on both sides. Weird now that the Talibans have taken over the country there was a suicide bomb mission in Kabul if I read it correctly? Even they are not everybody's friends??
The Taliban and Islamic State have always been rivals. Just because the Taliban is back in power does not mean there will now be peace & quiet in Kabul. As to Palestinan 12-year-olds, just recently a 12-year-old Palestinian boy riding as a passenger in a car was shot & killed by Israeli troops. Not much surprise about the hate.
