Ex-president and ex-PM Medvedev blames the Ukrainians for the war. What a shame. He is just trying to prove his place in Kreml, perhaps even no 1 candidate after Putin.the battle for leading Russia has begun.

Did you ever hear the story about Putin and Medvedev having dinner at a restaurant? Putin orders steak, and the waiter asks "What about your vegetable?" Putin says "He'll have steak too."

    Another one...
"Medvedev sits in the driver's seat of a new car, examines the inside, the instrument panel, and the pedals. He looks around, but the steering wheel is missing. He turns to Putin and asks: 'Vladimir Vladimirovich, where is the steering wheel?' Putin pulls a remote control out of his pocket and says: 'I'll be the one doing the driving.'"

Medvedev has released quite nasty remarks about Ukraine and the Ukrainians lately. Some think he might be trying to make way for himself if Putin is unable to lead Russia in the very near future.

Or is he trying to get back into Putin's good graces after Putin sacked him in 2020?

The waters here are very muddy.

Putin told on tv last night that what he has achieved is comparable to the tzar Peter the Great. Did the latter destroy Russia's economy? Interesting idea. Next Putin wil crowm himself a tzar, it seems.

Russia is attacking bloc by bloc. Shooting one bloc down one at a time.

Weird. I though at Monte Cassino the ruins made it easier to defend the ruins. I guess the warfare has changed.

Anyway more artillery shells and land-to-air missiles to Ukraine.

And don´t buy oil from India.

    No more tha
No more than ultra-nationalists in the US.

Federov(sp?) Is a hard core anti-US Russian nationalist. This came out about a week ago...
Only now is it getting an anti-NATO spin, as opposed to one nutters attempt to reclaim lost Russian territory.

    This is the same asshat.
Putin 'advised to fire missile at US' in escalation of nuclear war fears

There have been lots of reports lately of various nations donating equipment (tanks, artillery, self-propelled artillery, etc) to Ukraine. Which is all lovely, but it gave me a slight pause when I wondered about logistics and training. Will there be enough of the right ammuntion, spare parts etc in the right places? Will crews have time to train adequately before being needed?

Lavrov this weekend commented that the Finnish government is taking Finland to NATO when instead the people should decide. Imbecille. In door-to-door interviews 65-67% of people say we should join NATO instantly, 12% say no and the rest have no opinion.

I would not yank Israel's chain...They come across to me as still pretty insecure both politically and as a people (And given they are surrounded by people who don't like them and have been treated like shit for 2500 years...I'm not surprised).
But insecure people have a habit of over-reacting...They ARE a nuclear power (just ask the sheep in Western Australia)...

    Surprise surprise...:

Putin sorry for Lavrov's claim Hitler was part Jewish - Israel PM

Putin sorry for Lavrov's claim Hitler was part Jewish - Israel PM

Mr Putin made the apology in a call with Israeli PM Naftali Bennett, his office said in a statement.

The Russians bomb the cities house By house to the ground. Slowly but surely they seem to advance. I wonder about the difference. Monte Cassino was bombed to ruins and yet the Germans managed to keep their positions for a long time. What is the difference?
