Interesting that Turkey was helping to arm Ukraine against Russia before the war.

Yeah, you don't build a ship in a few months.

    Unless you're the U.S. and it's 1944.

I'm impressed they had the ship built and in the water in one year! Fitting out was to be done in Ukraine, obviously that isn't happening now. It's mounting the Gokdeniz CIWS, and 12.7mm Stamp guns are manufactured by Aselsan, a Turkish weapons manufacturing corporation. The 76mm Leonardo super-rapid gun is an Italian manufacture gun capable of 120 rounds per minute and compact enough to be installed on small ships. Israel has bought stock in the company and is using the gun on it's ships.
We've all seen the success of the Turkish Baktar drones. Turkey has been caught in the middle between the US/NATO and Russian spheres of influence, i.e. adopt our policies or we'll cut you off from weapons procurement (India has a similar situation). Here's a 21 Aug 2021, Aljazeera article on Turkish weapons production, nte this was written prior to Russia's late February 2022 invasion of the Ukraine, but could have been written post-invasion.

Oh yeah, CAC. One example that the nuclear weapons expert used to support his position that Putin's and his allies' threats were more for domestic consumption and an attempt to intimidate western public opinion was his threat to nuke Britain.
Russia threatens to nuke Britain in four minutes and Finland in 10 seconds | Metro News
The media and pundits totally ignore Britain's ability to respond with counterstrikes of their own. Britain has divested much of its nuclear deterrence but still has four Vanguard class ballistic missile submarines. Each boat currently carries eight missiles with 5 warheads for a total of 40 warheads each. They are capable of carrying sixteen, eight warhead missiles for a total of 128 warheads per boat, and the US maintains additional missiles for Britain at Submarine Base, King's Bay in Georgia, these could be drawn and mated to warheads from Britain's stockpile of 215 warheads (120 operational in 2016) if needed. In March 2021 PM Boris Johnson announced that Britain's nuclear stockpile would be increased to 260 warheads.
The point is that if Russia launched a nuclear strike on Britain and only one British boat launched a counterstrike, with one missile and five warheads each targeting a population center, 26,705,000 people would be targeted or about 20% of the Russian population. More boats equals more strikes, and more population and military assets hit, and that's not considering the reaction of the US and France, both nuclear powers that are required by treaty to help defend Britain. To put it in perspective, the US has 5,428 warheads of which 1,644 are deployed, Russia has more 5,977 of which 1,588 are deployed. France has 290 of which 280 are deployed. Unless a leader is completely unhinged, cognitively impaired, so as not to understand his actions, or is dying and doesn't care that he's ending life on earth, he won't use nukes. Kim Jong-Un meets the first category but only has an estimated 20 warheads, unproven delivery vehicles (missiles) which can possibly be intercepted. The US President, Joe Biden is exhibiting the second category, but there are sufficient safeguards in the US system to prevent his launching an unprovoked strike. It has been rumored that Putin is in the third category and was widely speculated about in western media earlier this year. That possibility hasn't been as widely proffered in recent months, so who knows.

I agree, Wolverine was one of the best characters. I think Jackman does a good job portraying him, Liev Schreiber does a good job of portraying Wolverines arch-nemesis, Sabertooth (he was actually the second actor to portray the character). When my boys were little that was their favorite comic, and we'd have to get any issues he was in every week when we visited the comic bookstore. His healing factor, adamantium infused skeleton and claws, superhuman strength and animal like senses and reactions made him a formidable character. I wasn't too big of the X-Men comics in general, but Wolverine was the exception.

They never did get Hugh into the costume...
I still like the wolverine movies - even though ive seen them all about 10 times...One of the best origin stories IMO.
There are any number of MCU characters i don't like - In fact a lot!
From the new Spider-man - to Wanda Maximov (what a silly character) - Ant Man - Hawkeye - Nebula - Bucky Barnes - Falcon and the whole cast of Guardians of the Galaxy! Won't watch She-Hulk or female Thor...I'm picky...But Wolverine is a stand out...

I remember that Comic Book series, my older son bought it a number of times and IIRC the stories (and artwork) were actually really well done. Some Vietnam Veterans group even came out and said it was a better representation of the war than Oliver Stones "Platoon". My older son was "eat up" with Vietnam, still is, he recently suggested we (he, I and his brother, and significant others) have a get together, make Pastalaya or a shrimp boil and watch "Tour of Duty".

In addition to Wolverine, (they were into X-Men too, I just didn't particularly care for the series) I remember them being really into the whole "Death of Superman". It had a good, compelling, story line, excellent artwork, and played out across several titles.
I'm a decade older than you, and as a kid can remember reading Fighting Marines, nothing had more horror than facing a "Banzai" charge or being hit by Chinese hordes. Then I liked and read the Jeb Stuart Smith/Haunted Tank series in G.I. Comics (1961-1987), and the Sgt. Rock series in the Our Army at War title.
