Loved Mad Magazine. Laughed so hard once I ruptured my diaphragm and spent three weeks in hospital.

That is really weird that you'd post that. I've always been a huge Frank Frazetta art fan (he's who that cover is by). Anyways, I was looking at a Moebius 1/10th scale model of "Death Dealer", one of my favorite Frazetta paintings.

Anyway, while I was at the hobby shop site two X-Plus Vampirella model kits came up, one in stock and one pre-order.

    What a weird coincidence, huh?

Yep Sir. Although the model seems a bit Rubenesque. The first issue is worth around 8 grand now. AND I was only missing 3 or 4 issues of the first three years !

Tried to sell my box of 60 or so Classics Illustrated but the book/comics store wasn't even interested.

Mad magazine taught me Cognitive thought. Even though I didn't have a clue what it was.
Women beat that into my head.

I loved Mad Magazine, too. My aunt (!) bought me a subscription that I kept up for a few years. Made me laugh and think. What a subversive thing!

I just realized I'm older than Disneyland, the Mouseketeers and Captain Kangaroo.
It's almost eight o'clock, I'm heading for bed.

I've mentioned it before in the "To what are you Listening" thread; one of my nephews, my brother's younger son, filled in for several concert dates as the drummer with "Black Jacket Symphony". He has been playing since he was like 6 years old, played in a band with my sons, his brother and another guy, for a while, benefits, local events, etc. they were all too young to play in bars. My boys went off, joined the Marines, came home, finished college, married, etc. So, he and his brother hooked up with another band. When they got old enough to play bars, they joined another band and did, and music festivals, and other large music venues. Still do, but they're on hiatus because he's going on Southwest/West Coast tour as a temporary replacement with "Black Jacket Symphony". The drummer is back, he's filling in for the bassist this time. They're doing Led Zepplin IV, an incredible album, if they come to a town near you, go see them. They put on an excellent show.

Tour and ticket dates: The Black Jacket Symphony | The Symphony of Our Generation

Bobby/A58 they're playing Metairie, your neck of the woods. Get some of yur coon azz buddies together and go see a concert. Otto, they're coming to Texas, if one of the dates is close to you, take Mrs. Otto/Trouble and go see a concert. You'll love it.

In The Dungeon, one of my favorite drinking establishments in the French Quarter are many Frazetta’s on display. It’s an incredibly cool place and I highly recommend stopping by for a few cool ones during a trek through the Quarter.

Hey brothers…just sharing my return from hospital. Had a cancer removed from my right kidney (and a bloody rib removed) resting up at home after 5 rather trying days in the Urology ward…I thought I was bad but everyone around me was in a world of hurt and would have swapped with me in a heart beat…150 hours of that solid takes it’s toll. I (they) found my cancer looking for something else on a scan…that something else may have saved my life (weird hey) by getting to the cancer in time…I hope any way.
It makes you realise that if you are pro active about your health (which I wasn’t) you can get to most things before they become big things and the treatment becomes ‘big’…I know also that ignorance can sometimes be bliss.

Well if you sit me somewhere comfortable with a gun and point the chair in the right direction…I know I’m a beginner compared to some on the forum.
