Yes, I am the Florida man of fame and legend! I am not in the part of Florida with the sunny beaches, waving palms, Or Dizzy Mice, but up close to Georgia, in the deep woods of a rural county. I became interested in WWII history when I read my first book on the subject in about 1960. The book was a boy's historical fiction, part of a series, We Were There At the Battle of Pearl Harbor. Many of my teachers and the other men in my community were WWII vets. I have never stopped reading WWII history. I find the subject fascinating still, 60 years later. I am a Navy vet from the late Vietnam era, but I never left the Atlantic Ocean. I am a retired master plumber, and in retirement, a professional bum. I love it. I look forward to chatting with some folks who have a shared interest.
