It is terrible, isn't it. I rented it about 16 years ago - the Trades Descriptions Act should be informed about the cover - you get the impression that Carradine and Reed have major roles in the film, between them, they are on screen for about 3 minutes in total.

The tanks mentioned earlier are all SU 85 or SU100 Soviet self propelled guns - they were used in the war by the Germans but not on a great scale, just the odd captured one; I don't think companies were issued with them.

Besides that the quality of the acting by all concerned is dire!

By the way, that lad who played Sven, wasn't he the Russian kid in Cross of Iron?

Ha ha. That was bloddy aweful. It is the military version of the spaghetti western. Sound was terrible as was the acting. Cannot believe how Carradine and Sir Reed were conned into this movie. Worse even, I paid money for the damn thing! The worst EVER!

Otto--we need a smily face icon that is pinching its nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PzJgr, THE lousiest war movies (older ones that is) I have ever seen were Italian made. These inclode: Battle for the Last Panzer, Battle of El Alamein and Five From Hell.

I don't know any other films that can top these for being lousy.

(Pshawwwwwwwwwwwwwww) The sound of exhailing air from the stinkin post. [IMG]

    Hi PzJgr/Fried.

PzJgr, send me you new address and i'll gladly send you the 2 DVD set to keep. There is a 4th movie included which is a good movie--not Italian made nad is called: Hitler's SS but, the transferr of this fine movie to DVD was lousy but is watchable.

Fried, that symbol is Ok as long as he isn't giving the audience The Birdie. [IMG]

My vote has to go to "Battle of the Bulge" Anyone doing a film about the Ardennes offensive should not shoot scenes in Morocco!!!

Have to agree, G.H. - IMHO one of the cinema's great wasted opportunities. If only they'd just told it 'straight'.... [IMG]

Apparently, Hasso von Manteuffel was of the same opinion, describing it as an insult to the soldiers of both sides.

I wathced Midway the other day… what an utter crap! [IMG]

Only good thing was that Peter Fonda and Robert Mitchum (whom I am a big fan of!) looked exactly like admirals Nimitz and Halsey…

But I hated it. The film has no connections, no plot, lousy effects and real footage edition (unlike the excellent footage edition made in Twelve O'Clock High or Sands of Iwo Jima). I should have thought so: damned Charlton Heston is in it! God, how I hate him!!! [IMG]

After an evening of fighting on Call of Duty world at war my friend asked my the question which War film did I think was the worst of all time. It was a bit of poser and I did ponder it for a while and have drawn two answers-

The first would be U-571 basically because of it's ridiculous and its inaccurate plot. Plus I did not rate the actors but that's not their fault. I'm afraid I found the film rather tomuch to stomach. Although I am sure that there will be some people here whp disagree.

The second would be The Keep. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but believe I can't believe it falls under the category of War Thiller.

On the bright side though two of my favorites would be Patton and Cross of Iorn.

I thought it was rather funny I believe that it was made as a response to U-571.:D:D

Made me chuckle a few times

Hitler: I am The Fuerher. I'd like you to know I have a complete set of testicles.
Princess Elizabeth: One is very pleased to hear that.

Bendle: What would you like you lovely big lump?
Goering: Two huge flagons of wine and... a pig! Stuffed with a chicken and... put a couple of steaks on its ears.

I'm not getting the dislike for TRL or U-571, but to each his own!

Worst WWII film(s) I've ever seen was a triple-tie between Sands of Iwo Jima, Flying Tigers, and They Were Expendable.
