The only things I can watch recently, are the crap that is shown on TV. The exceptions to that of course, was when AMC played: The Longest Day-a few days ago, and TV Land playing Hogan's Heroes.
I just watched the first half of The Sound of Music with my younger son. Julie Andrews is lovely and her voice is perfect. In a historical context, it is interesting to see the early stages of WWII portrayed before it actually became WWII. Looking forward to the second half tonight (but only after our basketball tournament and then a trip to the Buccaneers training camp!). Cheers!
Saw an episode on the MilitaryChannel yesterday 'bout Iwo Jima. A number of vets were flown over on the 60th ann. & the show consisted of archival footage along with 1sthand accounts of those who lived it. It was moving at times. It takes alot for me to cry, but whenever i see a vet in tears saddened over the loss of a buddy that tears me up right quick.
LOL ive been watching season 4 of the Deadliest Catch LOL.... last decent war film i saw and didnt get irked by the phony propaganda of it was TO END ALL WARS
somehow i dont think krieg will be watching much at all tonight maybe the short documentry on the box a bit later
Last night a document on Nürnberg and Leon Goldensohn. In father's files, son finds secrets from Nuremberg
Saw The Avengers episode The Town of no return last night, filmed on the wartime Coastal Command airfield at Bircham Newton in Norfolk. It had recently been abandoned by the RAF at time of filming (1965), so many Nissen huts and blister hangars around. Think the control tower still stands, not sure about the rest though. It's amazing how many wartime sites appeared on British tv programmes in the 60s.
