Here is a good one. It's Karl-Otto Alberty as the German tank commander in Kelly's Heroes. He's great in this film! His natzi-esque look ensured him roles as a nazi in several other great films, including Slaughterhouse-Five, Raid on Rommel, Battle of Britain, War and Remembrance and the absolute classic The Great Escape. He's also the only character to have ever sold a Tiger tank in film. :tiger: Oh yeah, here is another reason to like him, his name is Otto!
How about John Banner playing the one and only Sgt. Hans Schultz. ...even though Schultz isn't a nazi Schultz: Col. Hogan if you ever escape... Hogan: Yeah? Schultz: Be a good fellow and take me with you.
Wolf Kahler - the deffo "numero uno" when it comes to Nazi acting, IMHO: Raiders of the Lost Ark Photos
Must admit Branagh did a brilliant job but Feinnes in Schindler is a totally terrifying person in my opinion... Eeek!
That man is crazy looking. Nightmare central! He may not be the definitive Nazi but he looks scarier than Freddy Cruger.
I can agree with that one ! What a picture. I will have to post it on my refrigerator to keep me away.
Reminds me of the late war joke in Germany that went something like " The war is not over until Göring fits Göbbels´ pants..."
Maximillian Schell as Stransky in Cross of Iron as well as Willi Bittrich in A Bridge Too Far. My favorite by far.
I think I will have to agree on Maximillian Schell, great embodyment of a german in all of his films.
Bruno Ganz or Maximilian Schell would get my vote. Schell is excellent in both a Bridge too Far and Cross of Iron (My favourite war film)
