Congratulations Kai-Petri!

It was Germany.
S. Suprun was a member of a Soviet aircraft purchase comission that visited Germany March 1941. There he was given a chance to fly captured Spitfire Mk IA and P-40.
The info is from http://www.apali.fi/uk/uk.html click "aviation books", then "Red Stars".
Your turn, Kai- Petri

Regards, Juha

Goodness me...he he...That really was a wild guess but it seems it was a very good guess...

Thanx Juha!

It was a good question although almost too tough...

Ok. Next question:

Which other country attacked Poland in 1939 than Russia and Germany??

Indeed Juha!

Youīre right!

The interesting thing is, and I didnīt know it either until a week ago, that Slovakia got its independence in march 1939 after Germany took the Czech part. The Slovaks joined the Polish campaing partly by German pressure and did indeed attack Poland in Sept 1939!!!
Thereīs some less known info for you all!

Ok, over to you Juha!

Thanks Kai-Petri!

I wonder, did Slovakia got any international sanctions for attacking Poland?

Question:

What German explosive?
-developed by the Westfalische Anhaltische Sprengstoff AG
-made out of old gun propellant
-high mechanical strenght (could be cut, bored etc like plastic)

Regards, Juha

Nipolit it was.
"a lump of Nipolit, cast or cut to the desired shape, drilled and tapped for the igniter, and that was that" -How Nipolit (hand)grenade was born, by Ian V. Hogg, The Encyclopedia of Infantry Weapons of WWII.

Martin, over to you

"Germany will win because it is morally superior"

or something like that...??

If not then is it one of these two that happened in Sept 1944?

1. Volksturm created
2. V2 bombs

"I have just made a momentous decision. I shall go over to the counter-attack, that is to say here (pointing to a map on the table), in the Ardennes, with the objective--Antwerpen."

(Seemed like a good idea at the time )

My apologies for the delay.

Staying with quotes...

"This war is only a continuation of the last, but very great differences in its character are apparent. In the last war millions of men fought by hurling masses of steel at one another. Prodigious slaughter was the consequence. In this war nothing of this kind has yet appeared. It is a conflict of strategy, organisation, technical apparatus, science, mechanics, and morale."

Who, when, where?
