( If Carl doesn't get this one, I'll eat my hat ! )
Which classic WWII movie contains a cynical character who constantly demands a cigarette from his buddy with the phrase :
'Butt me ! '
And who was the actor ?

Maritin, it looks like you will have to eat your hat because I don't know the answer.
Stalag 17 comes to mind with William Holden but--I don't think its that one.

If your talking about the movie: a walk in the sun? I only saw it once years ago and did not like it. I still have no clue who the actor could be?
How does your hat taste? Now you will have to go to Harrods or someplace to buy a new one

Phhhp ! Pff-pfff ! ( Spits out first bites of hat )
The film is correct Carl - 'A Walk In The Sun', and the 'butt me !' character was played by Richard Conte.
Over to you....

Ahhh, and I needed that hint
What war movie filmed in B&W and in the 1950s--starring Van Johnson as a Lieutenant (for our English Cousisns, that's Leftenant) and for our German Cousins that's Leutnant) in charge of a Platoon of Nisei in the 442nd RCT?

OK here's one off the top of my head - you can even try a guess at it !
In 'The Battle Of Britain' (1969) we see Christopher Plummer pull up outside 'The Jackdaw Inn' to meet his wife, played by Susannah York.
Which real-life BofB airfield ( and location used in the film ) is just down the road from this pub ?

( Sigh...) everyone's given up on this one. The answer is Hawkinge , and you can still sit in the bay window where Plummer & York argued....
OK, a very easy one to get the quiz moving...hopefully
'633 Squadron' and 'Mosquito Squadron', both filmed at... which ? ....airfield ?

Eh,

Hint: goto 1965.
