Warning : this one isn't easy !
It's a sort of combined movie/militaria question. In 'A Bridge Too Far' , Ryan O'Neal plays General Jim Gavin. Despite being a 'by the book' man, Gavin is seen in the movie using a prominent piece of Wehrmacht personal kit.
What is it ?

Is that question still going?
In case it isn't, I will offer up one of my own. Name the film in which the hero is confronted, at different times, by a rhinoceros and Hitler.

I'd forgotten all about my old question ! The answer was - O'Neal wears a Wehrmacht officer/nco's leather map case, with the name 'Gavin' painted in white....
Back to DWD's question !

No, I'm sorry Col. Hessler, but that is not the answer.

Nobody has tried answering this one in a couple of days, so I will add a couple of more clues. In addition to confronting both a rhinoceros and Hitler, the hero also travels on a zeppelin and escapes an exploding ship at other points in the film.
