As this thread has been dormant for quite a while, perhaps Col Hessler or OTF would like to kick-start it again with a fresh question ?

In "Kelly's Heroes"....what did Kelly[Eastwood] get busted in rank for?
Easy one.

Kelly was the 'fall guy' after half a company of GIs were killed when somebody called in an artillery strike on the wrong hill.

That guy knows the movie script by heart. His old screen name was Crapgame.

Thank you gentlemen.
What derisive nickname was used by a crewman to describe the former civilian job of the captain of the U.S. Navy destroyer in the film The Enemy Below?

Ummm - I don't know this one - if it'll help jog anyone's memory, the Captain in question is portrayed by Robert Mitchum and the previous career was a Merchant seaman.....

I remember the scene...right before the U-boat was spotted.
Don't remember the remark though.

Thanks Martin !! I just took a wild guess from the merchant part of your post.
In the movie "The War Lover", What was Steve McQueens B-17's name. The one he flew into the White Cliffs of Dover at the end of the movie.

Not only that, but I've got a piece of B-17F 42-5852 sitting here on my desk....
OK - next question. Staying with 'The War Lover', there's a familiar scene of a B-17 doing a belly-landing right in front the camera ( and taking out a bell-tent as it does so ). Familiar, because it's the very same crash scene lifted from 'Twelve O'Clock High'.
Which famous stunt pilot was at the controls ?

Not such a wild guess at all, Ta ! It was indeed the legendary and much-lamented Paul Mantz, belly-landing a radiation-contaminated QB-17G right in front of the cameras in the days before CGI.....
All yours.....
