Don't go too far back, or it won't be a WWII movie question. "LOL"

Were safe with this one.
Name the actor who being more famous for playing Gangsters and Detectives and once even owned a place in Casablanca called: Ricks, and said: "Play It Again Sam." Name him as he played Sergeant Joe Gunn in the 1943 war movie: "Sahara."
Bonus question--not necessary to win but----
What American actor, played the young British soldier Fred Clarkson, who was wounded in the strafing attack by a German fighter. The German fighter was shot down--the pilot survived. The German pilots character name is: Hauptmann von Schletow, played by German actor--moved to the USA and became an American citizen--Kurt Kreuger.

I think you mean 'Humpy' Bogart, although he never said 'Play it again, Sam' in Casablanca (1942). That was Ingrid Bergman. 'Humpy' storms into the bar and says "I thought I told you never to play that...." and then sees Ilsa Lazlo!!!

Ill tell Otto that your padding posts!!!!!!
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry about a double posting--I used to have that same problem back when I first started posting here. I bet it happened a good 50 times.
Wuuuuppppsss--I thought Bogart did say that but--apparently not.
Anyway--it's your turn and--to answer that bonus question. The American actor that played that British soldier who got wounded then later died--was none other than Lloyd bridges.

Just for a little clarificaton on Carl's question...
Bogart never said, "Play it again, Sam" just as KmPok has pointed out.
A drinking Rick tells Sam, "You played it for her, you can play it for me. So play it."
This is the line that everyone "remembers" as "Play it again, Sam."

In an attempt to prove that the Nazi Eugenics laws had both international precident and justification, Lawyer for the defence Hans Rolfe forces witness Rudolph Peterson to answer the same mental aptitude test that he failed before the war. That failure got him sterilised as being mentally deficient.
Some would say this scene is what got the actor who played Rolfe his Academy Award.
In a stirring scene, he demands this question again and again, while Peterson struggles to answer...
What is the test question?

Ivan, Thanks for the clarification on Casablanca. It has been too long since I last watched it.
I knew the answer to the next question too. A Password Is Courage is one of my alltime fav movies and I can hardly wait for it to be out on DVD.
Hi "V" I don't know what movie your referring to? So i've no clue on this one.

The movie.... Judgement at Nuremburg
Hans Rolfe.... Maximillian Schell
Rudolf Petersen...Montgomery Clift
The question...."Form a sentence out of the words: hare, hunter, field."
-------------------------------------------------
In this classic 1943 suspenseful melodrama, a British tank officer named John Bramble assumes the identity of a dead waiter who was also a German spy at a sleepy coastal hotel, the Empress of Britain, in North Africa. While impersonating this waiter/spy, he learns of the name "Professor Cronstaetter." Who was this Cronstaetter and what did he do? As a bonus....who "portrayed" the Professor in his only appearance in the movie which was a newspaper photograph?

I know the film is Billy Wilders "Five Graves to Cairo" but have never seen it. I can find no reference to a Professor Cronstaeter.
Sorry

I can't answer this one as I last saw it about 15 years ago. I remember almost nothing about the movie. I also had it on tape but--I loaned to to a friend who accidently recorded "Down and out in Beverly Hills" on it.

I thought more people would have been familiar with this movie. Sorry...
Professor Cronstaetter was the alias of the film's Feldmarshall Erwin Rommel. Cronstaetter was in North Africa in 1937 digging pre-dynastic tombs. In actuality, he was preparing for the African campaign by burying fuel and supplies. (Your typical wartime propaganda piece.) Rommel/"Cronstaetter" was played by Erich von Stroheim.
---------------------------------------------
Here's a softball question...
In this 1949 movie, Sergeant Stryker's last words before being killed by a sniper were "I never felt so good in my life." Name the movie.

Thanks my friend--I wanted to wait for confirmation--just in case.
Staying with Sands of Iwo Jima. Name the actor who played Private Conway. This man passed away within the last several months to about a year ago.
