Yep

DD 224 USS Stewart

Seen on numerous occasions by U.S. forces who could have "killed" it, but even after the Japanese trunked together her two forward funnels into a "shoe" configuration, and added a tri-pod mast, by those who sighted her deep behind the lines of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere....
and I Quote...."By all that is Holy in the silhouette book, she was American. Plumb bow, flush deck, and two after stacks."

Found at Kure-Hiroshima, lost at Soerabaja.

The Scuttling charges failed to go off, and the Japanese made use of her.

Wonder why nations sink there own ships when the situation becomes untenable ? Don't.

your go Slip

Oops, sorry about the delay, I've been out of town and so forth.

Who said this?

"Is this a step in the direction of an attempt to dominate the world by force?...no greater mistake could be made than to suppose that because of it [Great Britain] believes a war to be a senseless and cruel thing, this nation has so lost its fibre that it will not take part to the utmost of its power in resisting such a challenge if it ever were made."

Later he took on many faces, but the first one was a representation of a specific persons face.

I believe that Jeff is correct on this one.... ( unless im mistaken, which would be a little embarrassing )

Kluge ended his life a few months before Rommel which also ended his life in 44' ( forced suicide )

Model met his end in 45'
