Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
for PzJgr
Didn't General Maurice Rose of the 3rd Armored Division get shot by the Germans trying to surrender (give them his gun), or something like that?
Does that count?

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Yes he did. His convoy of several jeeps ran into a German column trying to get out of the Ruhr pocket and he was killed trying to surrender.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Yes, Skipper. It was General Falkenhorst. I will give it to you as you are closest. He made a sketch in five hours which was accepted. I might be wrong but some sources claim it was on the back of a tobacco pack first...
ANyway, over to you, Skipper!

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Ok. here it is. Can you name a man who was proscuted at Nurnenberg (he got away free) , had Danish Ancestry, whose father emigrated to the U.S. and whose middle names where those of a famous Amercain Journalist. He was never a member of the Nazi party but had a high position in the 1930s and was therefore accused by the allies in 1946.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
All right: another hint . He was the director of the REICHSBANK, the Minister of Economy in the 30s and AH's "economy wonder man" because he saved the Mark after the inflation. He did not precisely kill anybody, but his money allowed the Nazis to go to war. He was wrongly accused on July 20th 1944 to be part of the plot and fell in disgrace , but in fact he had taken his distances with the Regime before the war.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Kai, I believe you are referring to the fact that Uncle Joe's arms were of very different lengths. This is a feature he was very self conscious about, so photos like the one you supplied with both arms almost fully visible are rare. In most of his photos one hand is in a pocket, or one arm is bent and somewhat hidden.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
umm, It seems like he's got two different soles, I can't see whether he's wearing shoes instead of his usual boots, so my guess would be two different (size of ) boots?

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Ok the man is Japanese. He was a famous marine officer and a 1905 veteran, a national hero and symbolized the Samourai tradition for his men.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Extra hints : this Japanese admiral is actually the winner of the 1905 war and of a famous battle that defeated the Russians. His name is also the name of a former German colony.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Thanks,
However as this is not my field of expertise, please give me a little bit of time to come up with a question.
