Got the message Sloniksp, so here's the question:
Which Italian territory was occupied by U.S. troops (A) and Yugoslavia (B) and eventually divided between Italy and Yougoslavia?

Here is a hint: it's a peninsula and the territory is shared between Italy (Trieste) and slovenia.

Ok I am back sorry for the delay gentleman, I was at the beach.
His career was fantastic and uncommon. A squad leader in 1941 later he was a comapny leader, batallion leader, cheef of war journalists unit. In june 1942 he was sent to a partisan unit. In autumn 1942 he became an assistant of partisan formation leader and from december 1943 - the leader of partisan division. He was a Hero of Soviet Union and end the war in the rank of general.
Now name that man.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Actually Slonikps was right. It was Trieste and surrounding territory that was divided between Italy and Yugoslavia after WW2. Red circle is Trieste, blue circle is Istra peninsula.
Just to clarify things.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
What more than any other factor (and many there were) caused the demise of PT squadrons, and why none were kept by the U.S. after the war ?

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Is it when PT 109 was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer? PT's were often depicted as unreliable and ineffective.

Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII
Actually it was Radar Directed gunfire, which negated the darkness "stealth" approach. They could be hit before their torpedos were within effective range.
Other problems were along the lines of what you said. Water-logged hulls needed to be pulled out of water for drying out periods and barnacle cleanings. As well replacement parts for engines with too many hours on them were rare/unheard of.
All this reduced speeds so that they could actually be run down by destroyers.
Old PT drinking song...
"Some PTs do 70 knots, some do 69, if we get ours to run at all, we think we're doing fine."
All 45 squadrons were sold off at the end of WW2.
They were everywhere and provided an interum naval presence after Pearl.
Close enough...Your go !
