The hammer and sickle is probably a joke or an attempt at disguising the prototype as captured soviet equipment. The men are Germans as the picture was taken during the tests at Kummersdorf of the Maus first prototype 205/1.

Legend has it that the Hammer & Sickle was indeed applied as part of the 'camouflage' of Maus #1. There's a reference on Achtung Panzer's page on the silly thing.

Ah! That's why they are trying to dig it out using nothing but shovels. The US would have brought in a bulldozer or backhoe and had it dug out in an hour or two and then towed it out of the hole.....

If it were a British tank it wouldn't have gotten stuck in the first place. Instead, it would be broken down in the tank shed....

They were displayed inside the "circus maximus" in the center of Rome, for the Italian armed forces day (November 4), I think their usual home is the Ceccignola army motorization museum (sooner or later I will find the time to go there, it's ridiculous that I visited the IWM dozens of times and never looked next door).
Most was modern stuff but there were some historical vehicles, as you can see from this pic the setting was great (the ruins in the background is the Roman forum!!).
BTW You can still identify the "other", I didn't note down the plate and I've forgotten what it is exactly, it's some sort of artillery tractor.

Cheers.
Pavesi P4/100 in the background, as Vathra said.
L3/38 in the foreground.
Vathra's turn.

If it is ok...
What do we have here?
PS is it OK to put modern tanks here, or we stick to WW2?

Re: Name that tank!
Sorry vathra I didn't see your post, you actually got the hard one !! I would recognize an L3 (but I need to look up a reference to distinguish the CV33 from the CV38) but not the Pavesi.
Your picture looks like a between the wars design with a close agricultural tractor ancestry, but I can't place it better than that.
BTW in the exhibition there were also a Semovente 75/18, an Autoblinda AB 43 and the Italian copy of the Dingo A/C I will try to upload the pictures to the forum galleries if I can understand how it works, photo quality is unexceptional but it was my first try with a digital camera instead of my trusty reflex.
EDIT: I think it could be a US T2 but can't check, the picture has disappeared

No problemo!
I thought you wanted only back one. CV is easier, of course.
Regarding new question, you are on good track!
Photo is here now, and just to mention, it was produced in small quantity.

Spannish Trubia? The front hull doesn't match most pictures but there this
http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/spain/trubia-c.jpg
The mudguards are a perfect match and the rear hull is similar
Looks like two different models existed
Trubia 75HP Serie A, Mod. 1926
Trubia Mod. 1936, (Landesa L.A. Modelo 1936)

An easy one, not many "tanks" could do what these ones are doing.

Re: Name that tank!
T-38 light amphibious tank (soviet) or a T-37 oh yes this tank in my opinion is a waste of space and lives. armour only being 3mm to 9mm absolutely useless

Correct, I have it as a T-38, built in floating capability allows you to do things a more normal design cannot, having armour support immedately after an extemporised river crossing or airlanding can be a big tactical advantage. The soviets insisted in anphbious capability with the post war PT-76 light tank so they obviously thought it worthwile. Wouldn't try to use either as an MBT though.
Your turn

Re: Name that tank!
woooo got one right, though TOS the armour being that small cant rifles penertrate that small thickness? because if rifles can penertrate it ...kinda ruins the point of the vehicle in the first place lol
