Correct, I have it as a T-38, built in floating capability allows you to do things a more normal design cannot, having armour support immedately after an extemporised river crossing or airlanding can be a big tactical advantage. The soviets insisted in anphbious capability with the post war PT-76 light tank so they obviously thought it worthwile. Wouldn't try to use either as an MBT though.

Re: Name that tank!
woooo got one right, though TOS the armour being that small cant rifles penertrate that small thickness? because if rifles can penertrate it ...kinda ruins the point of the vehicle in the first place lol

Re: Name that tank!
The one in the back looks an Ausf N so the picture is taken at the end of the Pz III carreer. From the 01 it's likely to be a command tank but no radio antennas are visible. The narrow gunshield and vision port in turret front are not standard for the 50/L60 Pz III so Panzerbefehlswagen IIIK .

Think the prototype in the picture was called a Panhard 201 and AM 40-P was to be the designation of the production vehicles.
So we are not using the same sources, mine states the prototype was taken to North Africa so as not to leave it in German hands and was "misteriously" lost, there may be a story there but can't find anything more. The post-war EBR clearly traces it's ancestry to this one.

Re: Name that tank!
It looks pretty close to the A6 Medium Tank Series, maybe a British A6 MkIII?

Re: Name that tank!
It is a between the wars model but not the A6. The A6 had two MG turrets in front this one has one in front and another at the rear (the rear one's gun is not visible in the photo but the turret is).

Re: Name that tank!
I still need an answer for post 712
It's a prototype but shouldn't be too difficult, not that many multiturretted designs around ........

Japanese Experimental No 1
Although it was not so easy, it has "french" look.

That's the whole fun of it , it's difficult to associate a "heavy" looking design with the Japanese that classified a 15 tonner as a "medium".

Re: Name that tank!
, the gun has a Pak 40 look about it and the suspension resembles a T-26 (or some other Wickers 6 tonn descendant) but neither matches 100%. Late war Germans had a habit of putting Pak 40s on any vehicle that could carry it (and some that could not ) but the "wavy" cut of the side shields doesn't look like something a straight line oriented German would come up with.
By the setting I suspect something from a scandinavian country ..... but am probably completely off the mark.

Well, you are off the mark for scandinavian country, but it is one of the "miscellaneous" tank producers.
But you are pretty close to answer, where ingredients from your first sentence could be mixed?
