Edit I couldn't really find anything that directly referred to military command except the bestowing of senior rank

i've spent too much time looking around, this apt won't clean itself!!!

This is a pair of Dutch resistance crystal radios, built into a small metal can, and a matchbox. The image is from a postcard bought at a Dutch Resistance Museum in Amsterdam. The matchbox is marked in Swedish, but Swedish matches were sold in Holland for many years..

Well the answer is: They are all recipients of foreign military (and civilian) medals and awards. For instance, both Patton and Eisenhower recieved the French Legion of Honour and are members of the British Order of the Bath.
Kind of a weird one...but...

Where is this prohibited in the Constitution? If so, you'd have to add a lot more to that, such heroic men as Audie Murphy and Alvin York, for example.
