I'm going to keep this going with usual contest rules and open it to any person from the period. You identify the person, you post the next picture question.

We'll start with an easy one.

Who is the man in middle?

It was a good day yesterday on the forum - which was great after publicly crashing & burning on a job competition for a different position at my work - my ego needed the help!!

So, I don't know how difficult, but since I gather they need to be Generals, etc during WWII and not attain the rank following WWII service, I'll forego who is "Amazing Grace" and ask

Who is and what was his story

You have the right nationality, Jeff. But nope, a bit older than Guy Simonds as he also served in WWI.
