Re: Name that plane
Wow! Finally had one correct!
This here is a sentimental favorite of mine. The aircraft was designed for third world nations.

Re: Name that plane
I knew that someone would say the pic is a Freedom Fighter. Unfortunately, it's not. Another clue: it's the technological upgrade by the same company that built the F-5 and still using much of the design of the old F-5 frame. Take note of the engine.

Re: Name that plane
Well, I just followed the examples of the more wily ones here! The F-5 had twin engines, the F-20 had a single engine.
Okay, your turn!

Re: Name that plane
Looks like it's purpose was trying out a substitue for wingtip torsion control system, but I'll eat a sheep head before I know what that is!

Bingo, TA152! Exacto-Mondo! Over to you!! (Maybe they should have given it a more fearsome name ...like "Killer Kitten"!)

Re: Name that plane
That has to be the most ugly aircraft in the history of aviation !
I really feel for the crew assigned to fly that beast. If it were me on the crew I would tell them to send me to the front so I would have a chance to live !

Re: Name that plane
Shocking!
Is my eyesigt going bad or are the things hangin on the side of the fuselage radiators? And I can't see the engines !! it looks like they are inside the fuselage and the propellers are connected by what looks like a bycicle chain, Noooooo I must be having a nightmare. Haven't the faintest of what it is (apart from the WW1 German crosses) but can't wait to hear if it actually could fly !!

Re: Name that plane
Right off? Looks like some variant of the Siemens-Schuckert R types, possibly a R-IV.
