The chief is not reacting so I will jump the gun as I'm pretty confident (though it may be the 771 as I was unable to find the differences between the two) and I need to go to work.
Hope this keeps you busy for a few hours, but I must admit it's not in the "latvian prototype" league, I'm still looking for that ......

You need to look harder, I picked that one because of it's "red herrings" content.

Re: Name that plane
It looks of Gee Bee decent. I still want to say is a Polikarpov I-16, but the cowling isn't the same. Or even the Polikarpov I-15, but mono instead of Bi.

Re: Name that plane
Looks like a Yakovlev Air-7 what with the over-wing struts, but I don't reckon so. Think that was last Yak to have struts so maybe not that...

Re: Name that plane
Not a Gee Bee and not a Yak, I admit it does look a lot like a peashooter but with those struts it's not.
Hint: For now the only "hit" is the country of service .....

Thanks for the promotion Rocket...lol
May I humbly request a "Time-Out" ? Knowledge is everything, someone with loads of it once said... most of it seems to be on this thread lol. Spend ages looking for a "Doozy" only to have it fall before you can refresh page...
I will find one for tomorrow???
Must sleep...Eyes healing over...lol

Re: Name that plane
OK... Lets have a go then ... BTW, just like to say, the taking part is fun, the winning is excellent, but most of all I enjoy the knowledge gained by looking at so many aircraft along the way...

Re: Name that plane
You made me work for it, I looked up the Ki 51, Vultee Vengeance, and Su-2 and was convinced the crosses below the wing were Spannish nationalist ..... then William Green came to the rescue.
This is a "discard" from the search that came up with the Ba 27 so should not be too hard.

Re: Name that plane
Very "cagey" one that TiredOldSoldier, here I am looking at Italian and French when it's actually a Dornier Dolphin.

Re: Name that plane
Dornier Dolphin (or Delphin) III is what it is, I wanted to be even more "cagey" and post the Dolphin I that was reported sold to the USN or the III sold to the RN but could find no picture of them.
Over to you.

Re: Name that plane
The picture is there for me though there is a very suspicious red cross below it. It looks like a parasol winged fighter but it's not a Polish PZL 11 I can't really see if the wing is straight or gull shaped but too many details are different .... It could be a PZL 24. I found a picture of the second prototype PZL 24/II that has very similiar markings but had a 3 bladed propeller while the pic looks having a two bladed one.

Re: Name that plane
It is indeed a PZL 24. Sorry for any photo "anomalies," the picture looks ok to me. Over to you T/O/S.
