Interesting 'silhouette' you've posted 343
It has a similar outline to the "Kalkert Ka 430 Glider" posted by JagdtigerI a while back, but the cockpit does'nt match ??

Nice find on the photos Lou, the only one I came across was the same shot 343 posted ... Well done.

Here are a couple more of the XCG-10
==========================
Now, for my entry into the quiz....
.... this is an easy one..... but I just like the name of the plane......
.... so, the first one to provide the 'popular' name for the plane and make me giggle wins.

Re: Name that plane
As Jagdtiger1 said, I believe iti is the F4F-S3 "Wildcatfish" that never made it past the prototype stage, only the one was made, it was a disappointment apparently.

According to this website ( Daveswarbirds), the conversion to Wild Catfish was performed by the Edo Corporation (manufacturer of seaplane floats), and they provided 100 pairs of floats to the Navy. I don't know whether it was a 'disappointment' so much as, as he points out, ".... the changing nature of the war in the Pacific" that canceled the project.
But the name lives on!
Wild Catfish!

Re: Name that plane
It is from a country invaded by Germany within the first year of the war. Let's start with that.

Re: Name that plane
Hello JagdtigerI, finally I found your page
it is the Norwegian Kjeller FF 6 (T.2) 1921
But: the first year of the war was 1939 and not 1940 Norway
Regards
Kruska

this one really struck me whilst searching for JagdtigerI's "1939" aircraft.

Re: Name that plane
Hi Kruska,
In my mind what I meant by the first year of the war was not 1939 but Sept. 1 1939- Sept. 1 1940. Sorry for the confusion
