LOL You beat me to it Stefan . A soldier was meant to use what was issued to him and he really had no choice in what. And yes it has been discussed before quite a few times.

re: What weapon would you wield?
OK here is what I hope my weapons will be sorted by nation
 America:
M1 Garand (of course)
M1928 Thompson w/ a 50 round drum
Side arm: Of course the M1911 45.
Also a few dozen pounds of explosives
 USSR:
SVT-40
PPsh 41
With a TT-33
Third Reich: (calling it what it was)
Sturm Gewher 44
Panzerfuast 100m (for a little boom)
P-38
and a lot of explosives
(first official post on these forums so I probably overdid it)

re: What weapon would you wield?
Ok. As has been shown numerous times and in numerous similar threads people can make lists of thier favorite weapons according to thier opinions . How about giving some reasons why?

re: What weapon would you wield?
Why explosives? Everyone goes on about them but it's not like in the games where you leave a charge and destroy a tank, as a rule it was normally specially trained engineers who used explosives to destroy obstacles and the like, the best most people would ever see is a hawkins mine or similar.

re: What weapon would you wield?
I have owned, OPERATED and used quite a few weapons in my life. If I were given a choce to wield one I would choose a Scottish Claymore or a Ghurka Khukri.

So you don't want to be a MG42 gunner anymore? Is it up close and personal now?

Re: What weapon would you wield?
Thompson. Effective at close combat and in mid range shooting, less chance of jamming unlike the M1 Garand, and some upgrades available (I know it wasn't frequently used, but it's better to have some that actually exist). It is also compact, has a high caliber (I believe that decreases accuracy but the impact damage is immense?)... and yea too many other things to name. It's a great all-round weapon
