Name the Setting
I wonder if we can have a quiz like this. Someone posts an image, painting or some other visual depiction, and you have to name the setting.
The answer is flexible, but location, date, and involved parties are necessary.
I guess I will start it...with the painting in my signature.

Seeing a biplane and damaged capital ships I'd guess they're Gloster Gladiators of the British Fleet Air Arm taking on the Italian Navy at Taranto, night of 11/12th November 1940.

Some landing in the Pacific, probably Tarawa, Okinawa, or Iwo

well, it is kinda hard to tell...
i would just name all the Pacific landings...
big ones then...Leyte? Saipan? Guam? Enitewok? Kwalagein (horribly misspelled)? Attu? Kiska? Dieppe? Torch?
