That was from "They Were Expendable." The scene when Brick (Robert Montgomery) and Rusty (John Wayne) are returning to the torpedo boat base and see one of the boats run aground and the crew was running around like a chinese fire drill trying to get it free. Brick asks the chief (Ward Bond) what happened, and he goes into a description of how they were taking the boat to a bar down the way and they got stuck. Brick then asks the chief "how was the beer." The chief replies "they were closed."
