1. Born in Canton, China
2. Entered service in 1937 as an Aviation Cadet in the Naval Reserve. Served as a Naval Aviator in VF-6 aboard Enterprise.
3. Served with the AVG from August 1941 till June 1942 and was credited with 6 fighters destroyed.
4. Returned to the US and joined the AAF.
5. Was awarded the MOH for actions in defense of heavy bombers in Europe.
