Name that Person
Well, I am hoping this will be a very educational experience for me...I have to learn a little bit more about the people and faces of WW2. Here's how the quiz could go.
Quizmaster gives 5 clues or descriptions or achievements of said WW2 person, from any time in his life.
First person to come and answer must give three CORRECT additional details, WITHOUT saying the name. After it is confirmed by the quizmaster, he/she is the new quizmaster, BUT, he CANNOT begin the next question until someone else gives the correct name of the mystery person.
This way, I can learn a lot more about these people...if anyone decides to take part in this quiz...
I guess I will start this off.
1. Did take command of 12th US Army Group
2. Present at surrenders of both Japan and Germany
3. Died in San Antonio, Texas, in 1966
4. Received Distinguished Service Cross in WWI
5. Dropped out of West Point, climbed to General from rank of private.
Who is this fellow?

Re: Name that Person
Hey guys,
Generally we only have one question at at a time waiting on an answer with the person to answer the last question asking the new question, giving hints as needed until current question is anwered.
Y'all sort it out among yourselves as to who "has the floor" and try to stick to the quiz guidelines.

Re: Name that Person
hmmm...well, IMO the extra info actually helps the answerers, so i guess, we'll keep it to five facts. The answerer will give the additional three, and then the name.

Re: Name that Person
1. Earned the Distinguished Service Order in World War I, in the Battle of Jutland.
2. Entered the Navy at the age of 14.
3. Was commander of Home Fleet from November 1940 until 1942.
4. Commanded the Nore station in 1943 onwards.
5. Second-in-command of Mediterranean Fleet at outbreak of war.
I tried to keep the revealing clues out, so it should be a little more challenging...
