Admiral - the way this thread works is that first , you have to answer the current question correctly.

Then , the thread is all yours to ask any WWII question of your choice.

So, at the moment, Kai-Petri answered the last question and he'll now post a question. Get it right - and it's all yours !

OK, the question...

The Panzer Lehr consisted of units that had formerly belonged to the various armour schools. The suggestion to concentrate these units into a fighting division...came from whom? And who was the first commander?

The idea came from Panzer Leader himself, Heinz Guderian. The first commander, Fritz Bayerlein

The final verdict has not been received but I trust your word. At least in my world, if Carl say it is so, then it must be true.

Why thank you sir. I will give an easy one. An expansion on the previous question.

Who was the last commander of the Panzer Lehr and to which Division did it surrender to at war's end?

I will take the commander's name as a complete answer.

Last CO of Panzer Lehr was: Oberst Paul Frhr v Hauser April 3 to April 15 1945. Dunno who they surrendered to.
