Lorenz Joost
(1917 - 2007)
SHERWOOD,OHIO - Lorenz H. Joost, 90, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Community Hospital and Wellness Centers-Bryan,Ohio.
Born Oct. 22, 1917, in Mark Township, to Mathilda (Miller) and Otto Joost, he married Gladys Fittje on April 15, 1945, and she survives.
A World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he was a lifelong farmer near Sherwood. A lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sherwood, holding several offices, he was also a charter member of Sherwood VFW Post 5665.
Surviving in addition to his wifs, are a son, Larry (and wife, Sandy) of Mark Center; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Joost of Sherwood; a son-in-law, Robert Davis of Sherwood; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Davis; a son, Jim Joost Sr.; and his parents. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Robert Eble to officiate. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church.
