Clair R. Leslie
(1921 - 2007)
HICKSVILLE,OHIO - Clair R. Leslie, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Defiance Regional Medical Center-Defiance.
Born May 28, 1921, at Paulding, to Zelta (Anspaugh) and Raymond Leslie, he married Sarah Price in 1939, and she survives.
A 1939 graduate of Paulding High School, he attended Ohio State University.
He was a major in the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II and retired in 1981 after 38 years of service.
An engineer at Dana/Weatherhead, Antwerp, he retired after 31 years.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, John D. of Stryker and Dennis C. (and wife, Nancy) of Sedalia, Colo.; a daughter, Ellen R. Leslie of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Christine Summers, Michelle Rausch and John D. Leslie II; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ellen Louise (and husband, Mel) Ross of Port Richey, Fla., and Grace Feeny of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Sunday in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.
There are no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Food For Children.
