Re: Stalingrad RKT Otto Gemunden
Was he one of the 5000 or reported to have survived captivity or was he wounded and able to get out before the curtain came down?

Re: Stalingrad RKT Otto Gemunden
Otto was wounded on 13/1/1943 near Dimdryewka and was one of the last to be flown out of the pocket on 20/1/1943.
On 30/9/1942 in Northern Stalingrad he destroyed 21 Soviet tanks in a day using only 35 shells !!! He then went on to destroy 3 tanks in close combat.
He was captured on 8/5/1945 and spent 3 years in Siberia.
