Fred E. Fritz
(1918- 2007)

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. - Fred E. Fritz, 89, of Kendallville and formerly a long-time resident of Edgerton, Ohio, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Kendallville Manor in Kendallville, where he was a resident.
Born May 17, 1918, at Farmer Township, Defiance County, to Inez L. (Beattie) and Fred E. Fritz, he married Flossie M. Deal on Jan. 18, 1941, at Edgerton, and she survives.
Formerly a lineman for Toledo Edison, he then became the light and water superintendent for the Village of Edgerton, retiring in 1980 with 24 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a life member of John D. Smith Post No. 10 of the American Legion in Edgerton.
He was also a member of the Edgerton Masonic Lodge No. 357 and Wolcottville First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia (and husband, Ashford) Smith of LaGrange, Lynette (Ron) Davis of Jacksonville, Fla., and Karen Louise Fritz of Kendallville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Myra Mowry of Bonita Springs, Fla. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Keith Perry to officiate.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with graveside military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post No. 10 of the American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or to the Wolcottville First Baptist Church.
