Joseph J. Lingvai
(1916 - 2008)


Joseph J. Lingvai, 91, of Bryan,Ohio and formerly a longtime resident of Edgerton,Ohio died late Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at his home.
Born July 7, 1916, at Toledo, to Mary (Molnar) and Stephen Lingvai, he married Mathilda M. Gegus on Sept. 22, 1945, at Detroit, Mich., and she preceded him in death on May 1, 1996.
A farmer, he was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church after moving to Bryan in 2005.
Also, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, of which he was a past commander in Edgerton, and currently was a member of Bryan Post No. 2489.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (and wife, JoAnn) Lingvai of Wichita, Kansas, and Thomas (Sue) Lingvai of Bryan; a daughter, Marguerite (and husband, Tony) Patch of San Francisco, Calif.; five granddaughters, one grandson and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Stephen, James and Elmer Lingvai; and three sisters, Mary Hofbauer, Ethel Imm and Helen Worlan.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father Charles Ritter to officiate. Interment will follow in St. MaryÕs Cemetery, Edgerton, with graveside military rites conducted by the Bryan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2489.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
