Ned H. 'Ken' Kensinger
(1914 Ñ 2008)
BURLESON, Texas Ñ Ned H. "Ken" Kensinger, 93, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007.
Born May 28, 1914, at Bryan, Ohio, he had lived in Texas since 1955.
He retired as an engineer from General Dynamics, where he contributed to the B-58, F-111 and F-16 aircraft programs. He spent well over 60 years in aviation, during which time he designed and built several aircraft and restored many others. He was one of the founding fathers of the Experimental Aircraft Association, where he was a charter member of Chapter 2 in Peoria, Ill., and was one of the organizers of Chapters 34 and 280 in Richland Hills and Burleson.
He was a Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Army as an aircraft and engine mechanic in the American theater during World War II. He was a member and past elder of St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby J. Kensinger of Burleson; a son, Jesse P. Kensinger of Garland; daughter, Chari L. Short of Poetry; stepsons, Jon Farrar of Sunrise Beach and Monty L. Farrar of Granbury; sisters, Frances (and husband, Curly) Hoffman and Dot Anderson, all of Nokomis, Fla.; three granddaughters; a grandson; one great-granddaughter; and longtime friend and caregiver, Ida Mae Lagrone of Grand Prairie.
Services were at the Laurel Land Memorial Chapel with interment at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
