ARCHBOLD,OHIO Orville H. Graber, 90, of Archbold, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2008, at St. LukeÕs Hospital in Maumee.
Born May 29, 1917, in Fulton County near Wauseon, to Ida (Rupp) and Harvey Graber Sr., he married Ilva Schultz on Feb. 21, 1941, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2003.
Having lived at Clearwater, Fla., for 26 years, he returned to the Archbold area in 1998.
He worked at the former Dinner Bell Packing in Archbold many years, owned and operated Graber's Welding and did maintenance service for mobile homes in Florida.
He delivered Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer runner for Fairlawn Haven.
Having served in the Army during World War II, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon and the American Legion B.L.W. Post 311 in Archbold.
Surviving are three sons, Lyle (and wife, Alsandra) Graber of Tampa, Fla., David (Susan) Graber of Michigan Center, Mich., and Michael (Sondra) Graber of West Unity; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Amelia Krauss and Opal Zolman, both of Wauseon, Isadore (Merlin) Oneil of Delta and Doris (Bill) Waite of Wauseon.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Darlene; five brothers, Roy Graber, Harvey Graber Jr., Ralph Graber, Lloyd Graber and Kenneth Graber; and three sisters, Evelyn Rupp, Cecelia Seiler and Lena Simmons.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel with Pastor Roger Marlow to officiate. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery with military rites by American Legion B.L.W. Post 311.
