Default Lester D. McClellan (ARMY)



Lester D. McClellan, age 83, of rural Montpelier, Ohio, died at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare Center of Northwest Ohio in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a resident. Mr. McClellan was a graduate of Edon High School and was a farmer and self-employed carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was also a member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon, Ohio.
Lester D. McClellan was born on December 17, 1924, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of Dale and Frances Alberta (Johnson) McClellan. He married Mary A. Fox on February 22, 1947, and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2007.
Mr. McClellan is survived by two sons, Ron (Sally) McClellan, of Aldvorton, Ohio, and Mark McClellan, of Cincinnati, Ohio, three daughters, Sue (Robert) Sutherland, of Cornelius, North Carolina, Jeanne (Michael) Belth, of Columbia City, Indiana, and Judy (Brett) Potter, of Thompson, Pennsylvania, one brother, Robert (Phyllis) McClellan, and two sisters, Ruth Ann Fry, of Bryan, Ohio, and Sandra (Tom) Keen, of Goodyear, Arizona. In addition to his wife, Mr. McClellan was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl McClellan.
Grave side services for Lester D. McClellan will be on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. in the Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by the Edon American Legion. There will be no visitation.
Memorials in the name of Lester D. McClellan may given to Bethlehem Christian Union Church.
