"Rest your oar, sailor."

I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

I agree with Otto, please tell us your grandfather's name. As a submarine enthusiast, I would like to know more about his experiences if you are willing to share those with the forum.

Also, if your family does not have Blackfin's war patrol reports, I have them in pdf format and can upload them to a site for you to download.

His name was George Lynch and he worked as the person who conveys the sonar information to the commander on the bridge. I have some of his old stuff I will post a picture.

Shock,

Are you old enough to remember your grandfather and did you get to talk to him much about his service?

yes, he only died last year. He told me some about his time in the service, even though he had failing memory. He told me about the places they docked and stayed. He didn't say much else, although he did seem to have a very deep hatred of the Japanesse. Almost a discust, about the crimes they committed.
