Kathryn L. Meyer
(1923 - 2008)

ARCHBOLD,OHIO - Kathryn L. Meyer, 84, of Archbold,Ohio died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold. Born April 30, 1923, in Henry County, to Florence (Kutzli) and John Leupp, she married Harold W. Meyer on Oct. 30, 1946, and he preceded her in death. She was a 1944 graduate of the Flower Hospital School of Nursing.
After graduation, she worked in the nursery at Monroe City Hospital until she received her state board certification. She then enlisted in the Army Nurse Corp during World War II serving at Camp McCoy, Wisc. as a 2nd lieutenant. She was then transferred to Oliver General Hospital, Ga. and was promoted to 1st lieutenant. After leaving the service, she was a registered nurse at the former Detwiler Hospital in Wauseon and then retired from Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharron (and husband, Richard) Hillabrand of Findlay and Laura (Drew) Gorton of Berea; three sons, Rodney (and wife, Phyllis) Meyer of Delaware, John (Jeannie) Meyer of St. Charles, Mo. and Brian Meyer of Wolcottville, Ind.; grandchildren, Michael (Jane) Gorton, Brandon, Michelle, Jane and Scott Meyer; and two brothers, Bob (Mary) Leupp of Archbold and Jim (Norma) Leupp of Stryker.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark, and four brothers, Hazen E., John L., Charles R. and Victor L. Leupp.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. JohnÕs Christian Church, Archbold, with Pastor Erich Christman to officiate. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Christian Church, the Fulton County Humane Society or the WomenÕs War Memorial in Arlington, Va. Grisier Funeral Homes & The Cremation Center : Wauseon, Ohio (OH)
