Harold C. Taylor
(1919 - 2008)

SANDUSKY,OHIO - Harold C. Taylor, 88, of the Ohio Veteran's Home of Sandusky and formerly of West Unity, died Wednesday evening, April 23, 2008, at the Firelands Regional Medical Center of Sandusky.
Born June 1, 1919, on the family farm, the Taylor homestead, in German Township, Fulton County, he was the son of Etta Mae (Smith) and Charles Taylor.
A 1937 graduate of West Unity High School, he was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. He had served as a mechanic and was stationed at Herrington Field of Herrington, Kansas.
A farmer, he was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau, the West Franklin Church of Christ and the American Legion Post No. 699 of West Unity.
Surviving are a sister, Doris Grim of Archbold; a nephew, James (and wife, Lori) Grim of Bryan; two nieces, Sharon Dean of Bryan and Nadine Grim of Edon; several greatnieces and nephews; one great-greatnephew and four great-greatnieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Claire Taylor; a great-nephew, Wm. Rex Wilson Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Robert Grim.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hollingshead-Beck Funeral Home, West Unity. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Snow to officiate. Burial, with military rites given by the American Legion Post No. 669 of West Unity, will be in the Johnson Cemetery of German Township.
Memorials may be made to the Ohio Veteran's Home, the West Franklin Church of Christ or to the American Heart Association.
