PIONEER,OHIO - Paul D. Case, 86, of Pioneer and formerly of Waldron, Mich., died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan.
Born Jan. 4, 1922, in Williams County, to Doris (Stofer) and Harry D. Case, he married Margaret P. Crommer and she preceded him in death in November 1998.
A graduate of Pioneer High School, he was an Army veteran having served in northern Italy during World War II.
He was a retired farmer, having farmed in Amboy Township, Hillsdale County, Mich. for 24 years. He also had previously worked with Essex Wire in Hillsdale for 17 years.
A member of the Pioneer American Legion, he was also a member of Lake View United Brethren Church, rural Camden, Mich.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen J. Clark and Karol D. Davisson, both of Archbold; a son, Larry (and wife, Jennifer) Case of Pioneer; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Catherine Dickinson; and a brother, Harold Case.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home-Pioneer.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Lake View United Brethren Church with Pastor Steve Smith to officiate.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Ransom, Mich., with graveside military rites conducted by Pioneer veterans.
