IIRC, the USSR tested the Me-262 until late 1947. At this time, the conclusion was reached that existing Soviet designs were better and that USSR would not launch the production of Me-262 copies.

funny as I have seen jet development on the history bogus channel some years ago where the Soviets indeed made a copy of the 262 look a like under their own firm so it proves that they did use the German technology of the time to influence their designs but so did we in the States

curious you Soviet experten if anyone again knows just where the footage was taken place..........yes I know could be anywhere

Nothing to prove, nothing to hide here.

Some of the Soviet designs, which were considered being superior to the Me-262, had "parts" or aspects directly inspired of the Me-262. Like for US designs, the Me-262 influenced USSR designs (especialy the turbojet).

It's just that they were better than the "vanilla" Me-262, and that's the reason why it was decided to go further with these designs (Mig 9 and Yak 15), instead of producing copies of the 262.

About the location, I wonder why you ask lol

But the most probable answer is Chkalovskiy Test Center, east of Moscow, since it was the VVS Scientific Research Institute at which plant the most extensively tested Me-262 was brought to and re-assembled.

thanks for your thoughts on placement of the airfield, no I was just curious that is all if someone had background info. as to a better set up by the Soviets yes I can believe it. thought I had some info on a Me 262 look a like obvious with Soviet refinements, new engines and I think swept back wings possibly ?

You're welcome, it is 99% sure the footage were taken in this Institute airbase, where all hi-tech miliatry planes researches were undertaken. There's another institute in Caucasus, but I'm not sure if it was operational at this time, and the landscape on the footage looks more like east of Moscow than Caucasus.

About the Me-262 copy, you may be referring to the Sukhoi-9.

Because of its aspect, it is a common mistake to believe it was a Me-262 copy, because it beared a superficial profile ressemblance (2 jets under wings + round nose).

But it was of a very different in design and shape.
Contrary to the Me-262 it had a pronunced ovale fuselage section and, most of all, the real trademark of the Me-262 : swept wings, was not retained (the Sukhoi's wing were totaly different in shape).

Like its contemporaries (Yak-15 and Mig-9), the Sukhoi's most Me-262-inspired part were the turbojets, but contrary to the Yak and Mig designs, which both entered production, the Sukhoi-9 and its derived never went past the prototype state.

The only real Me-262 copy entering production and service I know, is the Czech Avia S.92 but maybe there were other.
