Help me here guys. Where are the subs??? My brother gave me the game to play (okay, so I'm an old guy slowly becoming addicted to war sims), but I haven't found any subs to play with. Are they there??
And yes, I like it, find it very relaxing after a hard day, put my feet up, take a sip of my favourite whiskey, and go pop a few japs. Takes away all that tension in no time.

Sniper,
I cant find the subs either. Suposedly some CDs are missing one folder, The Submarine folder.
Its a great game if you ignore the fact that the Japs didn't use German guns and the Russians didn't use American guns.
Btw, I like you sig. Pete

The only negative thing about this game i can come up with at this time is that you only can use subs in multiplayer. Don't have broadband.

That is true, i can only use subs in Multiplayer.
These days i rarely play normal BF1942, i have been playing the
Eve of Destruction Vietnam war mod.
Its quite good.

Actually the russians did use american guns. During The Battle of Berlin 3 of the 9 Guards Mechanized Divisions were equipped with Sherman tanks.

I've thought about getting Battlefield 1942, but it is mostly a internet game, and I have 56k

Battlefield is not mostly ba multiplayer game. It's much fun to play it in multiplayer but i prefer the singleplayer version. For example: In the multiplayer game there is always some crazy motha focka who don't hesitate to shoot a team member i the back if he runs for the last airplane. But i like Battlefield as it is.
PS. Battlefield was created by a swedish developer Digital Illusions CE.

I was under the impression that it was mostly a multiplayer game. Just wondering though is it good on 56k. On Ghost Recon I can only play on maybe 2 out of 10 servers. Yeah and TK's suck.

It is a great game-I particulalry like the effectiveness ( as well as sound of... ) the MP18 used predominantly by the Japanese medics.

The expansion 'Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons Of WWII' looks fun. I have seen the trailor and it seems that you can use some kind of V2 rockets, a jetpack, Stealthbombers, and they have some jetplanes to. And more. Though it's pretty unreal it seems to be a fun and extraordinary game.

Yup, BF is good. Forgotten Hope mod is better
More maps, better versions of existing maps, more weapons and better weapon loadouts. More realistic as well, pistol shot to the head will kill someone etc etc
www.fhmod.com latest version is 1.2 GB though
